YOUR DAILY PROMPT

Strategy meetings are an interesting set of activities. In my experience, many felt productive while they were happening. I have seen smart people asked good questions, several ideas make their way onto a whiteboard, and everyone left with the pleasant sense that progress had been made.
Then Tuesday arrives and someone asks, “Did we actually decide that?” Even worse, others say, “What did we end up deciding to do?” 😲
I thought the marketing team owned the next step. Marketing thought operations owned it. Someone else remembered the conversation differently, and the meeting notes contained six pages of discussion but very little that told anyone what to do next.
In steps AI to save the day! 🤠
A typical strategy meeting produces far more conversation than decisions. Your AI tool can review the notes, transcript, or your own summary and separate those two things. It can identify what appears to have been decided, what still needs a decision, and what action follows from each confirmed choice.
I like limiting the output to three decisions because it forces prioritization. If the AI finds eleven possible decisions, I want it to tell me which three most directly affect execution and then list the others separately as unresolved items.
And just like all other situations, the human judgment still matters. AI was not sitting in the room interpreting body language, organizational politics, or the CEO's raised eyebrow when someone suggested delaying the launch. You still need to confirm that the proposed decision reflects what people actually agreed to.
Once you validate it, the AI can turn each decision into something your team can use by providing an owner, deadline, next action, dependency, and success condition. Suddenly, the meeting produces a small operating document instead of another collection of notes.
That is a good example of what I call the 90/10 Rule. AI handles the analytical synthesis work, while you provide judgment and final validation.
Your next strategy meeting does not need better notes nearly as much as it needs clearer decisions. See how collaborating well with AI can make that a reality.
