YOUR DAILY PROMPT

Briefing ID: 26-153

One of the hardest exit interviews I ever conducted was with one of the best recruiters I had ever worked with. She was leaving for a job that paid about the same, and when I asked why, she pulled out a printed copy of her calendar.

More than half of her week went to scheduling interviews, chasing paperwork, and updating reports that, as far as she could tell, nobody read. It turns out that without us understanding what we were doing as leaders, the work she was great at, like finding strong candidates and convincing them to join us, had been squeezed into whatever time was left. She had raised the issue a few times, and each time someone promised to fix it later.

Later never came and we lost a great recruiter because we kept handing her the tasks that she kept doing because she knew the processes would drop if she stopped doing them, and she was too dependable to let that happen.

This is likely happening on your team right now. Reliable people collect extra work because they say yes and do it well, and over time their calendars fill with tasks that someone else could do, a system could handle, or nobody needs to do at all. These types of costly mistakes rarely shows up on a report until they burn out or leave.

AI can help you find that work before it costs you someone good. Give it a week of a top performer's calendar or task list along with a short description of their highest-value work, and it can sort each task by whether it truly needs that person, could go to someone else, could be automated or simplified, or could simply stop. It can also draft a conversation guide so the discussion feels like support instead of criticism.

Then build the final list together with that person. Some tasks that look like busywork from the outside are how they stay connected to customers or colleagues, and only they can tell you which ones they are.

Today's brief helps you find the work your best people should stop doing. Give it a try and then start that conversation.

Let's go raise your AIQ.

HOW TO USE THIS BRIEF
🧭 Reading an AIQ Brief

Every Master Prompt in AIQ with Paul is written as an AIQ Brief. Each section answers a question AI needs answered before it can do good work for you.

Context tells AI what the situation is and who the work is for. Intent says what the result must accomplish, and Constraints list what cannot change or is off limits. Output describes what good looks like, and Check names what AI should show you and what you will verify before you use the result.

Fill in the brackets, run the brief, and treat the Check section as your to-do list once AI responds.

Take your skills beyond the brief. In my AIQ Advantage™ program, I teach working professionals how to build briefs into reusable workflows, check AI output before it goes out under their name, and decide where AI fits in their work. Learn more at AIQAdvantage.com
