YOUR DAILY PROMPT

Briefing ID: 26-135

Status: Confidential

One of the more uncomfortable realities of running a business is that you can have a profitable month and still struggle to make payroll.

Revenue looks healthy, customers are buying, and your accountant reports a respectable profit. Meanwhile, three major customers are paying late, a quarterly insurance bill is coming due, and your largest supplier has shortened its payment terms.

Everything looks fine until you check the bank account.

I've always found cash-flow management interesting because so much of the information we need is already sitting in spreadsheets, accounting reports, and payment schedules. The challenge is finding time to connect those pieces before a problem becomes urgent.

Most leaders have enough financial information to explain what happened last month. What they could really use is a reliable way to anticipate what might happen next month.

That's where today's AI exercise comes in.

We're going to use AI to build a simple cash-flow early-warning system that examines your recent financial activity, estimates your cash position over the next 13 weeks, and identifies potential trouble spots.

Why 13 weeks? It gives you roughly one quarter of visibility while keeping the forecast focused enough to support weekly decisions.

The system will look for practical warning signs, including customers taking longer to pay, recurring expenses increasing, large bills coming due, and weeks when your available cash could fall below a comfortable level.

It will also recommend actions you can evaluate, such as following up on overdue invoices, adjusting discretionary spending, or reviewing the timing of major purchases.

You don't need a finance degree to try this exercise, although I strongly recommend having your finance professional review any recommendations before you act.

The interesting part is watching AI turn ordinary financial information into questions you might not have thought to ask.

Let's give your cash flow an early-warning system. 🚨

Let's go raise your AIQ.
