THE DAILY AI INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING

Briefing ID: 26-095

Status: Confidential

Hello, Fellow Human. Time to upgrade.

“The system isn’t working.”

That sentence may be one of the most expensive pieces of business communication ever created because nobody knows what it means.

I’ve seen the familiar chain reaction:

  • An employee tells a manager the tool is broken

  • The manager forwards the complaint to IT

  • IT asks which tool

  • Then what happened

  • Then whether there was an error message

  • Then whether anyone else is affected

  • Then whether it happens every time…

Three emails, a Teams message, one mildly annoyed employee, and 45 minutes later, we have finally discovered that Excel isn’t actually “broken.”

One spreadsheet won’t open on one laptop since this morning after a softward update.

While annoying, did this require all of that time and effort? That is the real problem.

And best of all, the manager does not need to know how to fix it.

They need to know how to describe it.

That distinction makes this a perfect AI use case.

AI can act as the translator between an employee describing a problem in normal human language and an IT team that needs observable facts to investigate it.

The manager provides what they know, AI identifies what’s missing and asks simple follow-up questions, then converts the answers into a clean ticket containing the affected system, expected behavior, actual behavior, timing, frequency, scope, business impact, error messages, troubleshooting already attempted, and anything else IT needs to begin.

The power of this type of human-AI collaboration is achieved because we are improving the handoff, not outsourcing technical judgment.

That’s an important AIQ skill: use AI to create structure where human communication is naturally messy.

  • The employee gets help faster.

  • The manager stops playing messenger.

  • IT spends less time interrogating the ticket and more time solving the problem.

Everybody wins. 🏅

Except perhaps the phrase, “It just doesn’t work”, which is okay, because it it long past its retirement anyway.

Check out how today’s prompt can help your team use AI effectively.

Let's go raise your AIQ.
