THE DAILY AI INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING
Briefing ID: 26-089
Status: Confidential
Hello, Fellow Human. Time to upgrade.
I remember many Fridays ending and feeling unusually productive. It was a great feeling and what a way to end the week!
But when I started to review what I had accomplished that week, my calendar looked like a game of Tetris designed by someone with a personal grudge. 😳
I typically had attended twelve to fifteen meetings, answered more messages than I cared to count, reviewed three presentations, and made several decisions that apparently required seventeen follow-up conversations with that annoying person who would “reply-to-all” with a simple “thanks” or “ok”. 🤨
By every visible measure, I had been extremely busy. But then I asked myself the more uncomfortable question:
What did I actually get done or move forward?
The answer I come up with was usually less impressive.
I realized that I had participated in plenty of work, but I could not clearly identify the few actions that had created meaningful progress. If I didn’t change anything, I would say in this false measurement trap.
As I have trained leaders over the years, I discovered that most of them track lagging indicators: revenue, margin, retention, project completion, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and quarterly goals. Those metrics matter, but they tell you what already happened.
Basically, they are the scoreboard after the game has ended.
But a KPI Dashboard will help you manage the game while you are still playing it.
The most useful dashboard does not contain twenty-seven metrics, six pie charts, and a color-coded heat map that requires its own analyst. It identifies three leading indicators: repeatable weekly actions that strongly influence future results and remain substantially within your control.
For one of you, those indicators might be strategic decisions completed, high-value relationships advanced, and priorities moved to a defined next milestone. For another, they might be coaching conversations held, customer insights captured, and hours protected for deep strategic work.
The exact measures will vary, but the discipline will not.
AI can help you examine your role, goals, calendar, responsibilities, and recurring bottlenecks. It can then separate activity from output and propose three measurable behaviors that predict whether you are creating momentum.
You still provide the judgment while AI performs the pattern-finding, drafting, and stress-testing.
That is the human-AI partnership at its best: AI handles the analytical heavy lifting while you decide what deserves to count.
Check out today’s prompt to see how you can make this happen to your specific role and experience.
Let's go raise your AIQ.
