“Revolutionize the customer experience and become the undisputed market leader.”
Everyone nodded.
It sounded bold and strategic. Imagine in your mind that it is accompanied by dramatic music…
Then someone asked the dangerous question: “How will we know when we’ve done that?”
Silence.
Eventually, the team added three Key Results:
Increase customer satisfaction.
Improve response times.
Strengthen market leadership.
More nodding.
We had created an inspirational poster, not an operating plan.
The problem was that nobody had forced the language to survive contact with mathematics, resources, ownership, or reality.
That is where AI is very useful.
AI does not need to protect the ego of the person who drafted the OKR. It can inspect the logic, challenge the assumptions, expose vague measurements, and ask the questions people in the meeting may be reluctant to raise.
Your role is still essential. AI can perform the analytical heavy lifting, but leaders must supply judgment, priorities, ethics, and final accountability. Think of it as a 90/10 partnership: AI handles much of the comparison, critique, and rewriting; you make the final strategic call.
Today’s prompt turns AI into an OKR Stress-Tester. It evaluates each Objective and Key Result against three standards:
Is it realistic enough to be credible?
Is it challenging enough to matter?
Is it measurable enough to manage?
Because “aggressive” is not a strategy.
And “we’ll know it when we see it” is not a metric.
